Kitchen Planning - Contemporary Cottage Style

We are putting the final touches on the placement of a few cabinets for the new kitchen and will be able to share the floor plan soon.  But we're getting pretty excited about the different design elements.  We want to go with cottage style, but give it a contemporary twist.  So we're throwing in some glass tile, industrial style pendants, faucet, and a chimney style hood over the stove.  Colors are dictated by the glass tile - light khaki, pale sea glass blue and a smoky gray.

What do you think?

  1. Insider secret... If you're going with a beaded panel doorstyle, do it only on the lower cabinets and possibly tall cabinets. A simple recessed flat panel or glass fronted upper cabinet doorstyle will eliminate the visual chaos of the beadboard above counter height.

Seriously, this has got to be the best kitchen I've seen in a long time. Can't wait to see it completed.

    1. You're way too kind Vanessa. Let's see how it all comes together, I love the individual elements, but the key is getting a cohesive look when it's all assembled! Hopefully that won't take too long :-)
