And the finished product? Well it's a big change, don't you think? Let's start with the living room. It was pretty dreary with windows that had lost their seals (so they were clouded up) and poor lighting. Now it provides a great first impression..
One of my favorite solutions for a small dining space is to build in a banquette. It provides a lot of seating space and it's a great spot for friends and family to dine. The base opens up for extra storage, which is a huge plus. Once they installed their amazing antique table, it became a real focal point for the condo.
But my favorite feature is the kitchen. It was so dark and cramped and uninviting. Now it's totally different.
Look at all that counter space! |
While we didn't move the sink or laundry (aka plumbing changes), opening up the wall to provide a focal point to the water views made a huge difference. It just meant moving the refrigerator to the other side of the utility closet.
The amount of cabinetry has almost tripled and the addition of the breakfast bar creates a great spot for a glass of wine while chatting with the cook. And think of the entertaining they can do here - once COVID is in our rear view mirror!
But that's not all! The bathroom got a major facelift. Gone are the boring fixtures it started with and now it has a real sense of style with a marble mosaic floor, glass mosaic shower wall and beautiful new fixtures. Pretty fabulous, don't you think?
Best of all, the owners are just thrilled with their new home. It gives them the living space they need with a light, bright palette. Now they can just sit back, relax and enjoy it!
Great job, as always, Laurel.
