I'm not sure if it's spring fever or this sudden burst of warm weather, but I suddenly want a dose of color on the house. I had originally planned to paint the front door black - but now I think we need a pop of color. |

The new door is on order, but in the meantime, I painted up the old one with two shades of orange. What's your vote? Dark or light orange? I'd love your opinion!

Oh - and once spring is really here to stay, the yard will have lots of color! Here is a picture of the front garden from last year. Can't wait to see everything blooming!!!

I vote the dark orange. I love how it works with the siding color.

ReplyDeleteI like both and thought I preferred the light when the two were pictured together, but when they were split and you could only see one color, I liked the dark better. I think they are both great though.

ReplyDeletewhat color is the siding? i don't trust my screen to accurately reflect it. it looks like a grey/green. therefore, i vote green. i'm not a fan of oranges so i'd probably like the lighter yellower one of those two.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the lighter orange. The other is a little overpowering in my opinion. Hard to see anything except that door. The lighter one is unusual and interesting

ReplyDeleteReally like the darker color. Years ago, I painted my front door in a similar color about a month after we moved into our new home. I loved the pop of orange until springtime, when the gardens started to bloom, and everything came up in shades of pinks, whites and purples!!! My orange door clashed, so now it is black and looks lovely all year.

ReplyDeleteDark is nice (and would be all times of the year, I think) and to those who think it wouldn't work with the landscaping, it's easy enough to plant some pretty similarly-colored flowers for spring.
